SHORT STORY
After graduating from Cornish College of the Arts, Seattle, Utari Syaukat had an internship at Mint Design Inc. (mint-usa.com). Prior to that, Utari had an internship at Modern Dog in Seattle (moderndog.com), while she was still in school. Modern Dog also hired Utari for a top secret Coca Cola project back in 2006.
Utari then moved to New York and freelanced for Yard (yardnyc.com) and then landed a job at PS New York (psnewyork.com). In July 2007, Utari moved back to her homeland, Jakarta-Indonesia, and freelanced from home working on several projects including logo design, branding, and also collaborated with Selvi (illustrator) on a series of children's book. The next step was working as an in-house designer for The Papilion, a high-end luxurious mall with an edge.
When she thought it was time to pursue the dream of her life, which was to run her own graphic design studio, she had to say goodbye to The Papilion. Utari is now pouring her sweat and tears passionately for her own company that she owns with two of her good friends and it's called The Company Studio.
